Flow
“Eighty-five minutes, no words, and I was more invested than in anything else I saw this year. Watched it again the same evening.”

Spirited Away
“Watched with my niece who is seven. She was frightened at the right moments and fine by the end. I cried at the train.”

“I laughed out loud on a train, which I never do. The prison break sequence is genuinely well built underneath the wallpaper.”

“Saw it in a full cinema and the whole room flinched together at the pole-cat sequence. Nothing else has done that to me.”
