Moonlight
“Quiet in a way that made me sit very still. The diner scene in the last third is where it caught me properly.”

The Holdovers
“The scene where she talks about her son in the kitchen stopped the film dead in the best way. I put my fork down.”

Moonlight
“Three actors playing one person and I believed it was one person the entire time. I walked home the long way afterwards.”

Past Lives
“Almost nothing happens and I was gripped. The bar scene at the end is three people being decent to each other and it hurt.”
